As part of Microsoft’s BizSpark 100 (a program designed to help startups thrive with early access to key resources), we’ve had the opportunity get an early peek behind the curtain of the soon-to-be-released Windows 7 operating system and the Outlook 2010 software scheduled for distribution next year. This early access gave us a chance to bang around on the product to ensure optimal compatibility for our users before it hits the market.
Given our focus on offering relationship management and productivity tools for the 500 million professionals using Outlook around the world, we began work right away to ensure we continue to offer the best possible experience for Outlook users, no matter what version of Outlook or Windows professionals are using. Both the free product and Xobni Plus ($29.95) will be compatible with the upcoming versions of Windows and Outlook.
Is the compatibility going to include the 64-bit version of Outlook 2010?
What the Darn!!!! Why is your Xobni application now taking over my address field in Outlook and asking me to PAY MONEY for something that Outlook was doing just FINE UNTIL TODAY!!!! ! – I used to be able to type a name and Outlook would automatically find the name of the contact that I had previously emailed and I could just click on it and boom – now if I try, XOBNI is asking me to Upgrade to “PLus” or whatever it is – don’t disable an Outlook Function and ask us to pay for it – give us NEW “can’t live without” if you want us to pay for it!!! You fix it or do I need to uninstall!?!?!?!
Hi Clarke,
This is not how it should be working. Xobni should only be adding to Outlook’s results. Please take a look at http://community.xobni.com/xobni/topics/outlook_email_suggestions_taken_over_by_a_xobni#reply_1471784 and let me know if you are experiencing that same issue. There are also steps there to remove Xobni’s AutoSuggest. Thank you and sorry for the frustration.
Hi Brant,
Yes, this will include compatibility with the 64-bit version as well.
Thanks for the question.
Will you allow us to test/torment Xobni when we’re using our legit Technet / MS Connect / Public Beta of Office 2010? That’s the thing, to be honest which is stopping me from using Outlook 2010 at the moment (the rest of Office 2010 is really quite worth the wait!)
Speaking of testing.. How about the release of Xobni for BlackBerry?
So I installed the 2010 Beta – I noticed a huge change in the location of the Xobni sidebar – I have always had the reading pane to the bottom, and the sidebar always took up the whole left side of the page. Now, it is only taking the leftside of the reading pane. Fix coming soon?
I am a huge fan of Xobni it’s saved my inbox from chaos, I really hope it works with Office 2010 because I have nothing but good things to say about it
